Training Camp Season: 3 QB Drills That Actually Build Pocket Presence
Training camps open in three weeks. The QBs who show up ready are the ones who spent summer throwing 500 reps a week, not 50.
Here's a 3-drill circuit you can run in any backyard with the Gagalileo Elite QB Passing Net 7x5ft.
๐ฅ 1. The Quick-Release Drill
Stand 5 yards from the net. Chest-height pocket. Take the snap, set your feet, and fire. One second from snap to release. The 5 drop-pockets force you to pick a specific window โ no lazy throws. Do 25 reps, reset, repeat.
๐ฅ 2. The Pocket Slide Drill
Start at 7 yards. Shuffle right, reset, throw. Shuffle left, reset, throw. The 7x5ft frame stays wide enough to catch errant passes while you're moving. This simulates Patrick Mahomes's signature off-platform throws โ and the 7-ply knotless netting catches 60+ mph spirals without sagging.
๐ฅ 3. The Deep Ball Arc
Back up to 12 yards. Aim for the top pockets. This builds the high-arcing touch pass you need for go routes and fade balls. The powder-coated steel frame stays planted โ no chasing the net after every throw.
Three drills. 15 minutes. 100+ reps. That's how you show up to camp ahead of the depth chart.
