Top 10 most clocked courses on Instagram!

With the rise of social media, more and more golf fans use Instagram to record their wonderful moments on various courses. Golf apparel brand Galvin Green recently did an interesting study and listed the top 10 golf courses in the United States that were tagged the most on Instagram. The ranking not only shows the popularity of the courses, but also reflects their visual appeal.

Galileo sports, as a golf brand for decades, has been committed to providing the most durable and trendy golf series products to the world. Today, we will introduce you to the list of the "most photogenic" golf courses in the United States:

10. TPC Scottsdale, Arizona - 24,512 mentions

This is the home of the Waste Management Phoenix Open, the "biggest show on grass". The course attracts players and photographers with its desert landscape, strategic bunkers and challenging water hazards.

9. Shoreacres, Illinois - 24,808 mentions

Located in Lake Bluff, Shoreacres is a beautiful, understated course known for its classic design and tranquil atmosphere.

Located on the shores of Lake Michigan north of Chicago, Shoreacres is Seth Raynor's signature course as a renowned golf course designer. The course opened in 1922. In 1993, Tom Doak and his team rebuilt the course, mainly to expand the greens.

Shoreacres is very challenging, with 18 fairways that cross multiple valleys and streams. The fairways are lined with towering trees, and the large, fast greens are surrounded by bunkers. Accuracy is more important than distance here.

The golf course has wonderful holes, especially holes 10-15, which are known as Raynor's classic masterpieces. The 435-yard 10th hole is named "Road Hole", and the right side of the fairway is full of OB piles. The 480-yard 15th hole is a signature hole. This left dogleg hole requires a small draw on the tee shot to leave a good opportunity for the next shot. A stream divides the fairway into two layers, providing different attack strategies for players.

8. Pebble Beach Golf Links, California - 25,210 mentions

As the host of the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am, Pebble Beach is known as one of the most famous coastal courses in the world.

The course is located on the famous Pebble Beach on the Monterey Peninsula, close to California Highway 1 and Camille Bay on the Pacific coastline.

The course was designed by Jack Neville and Douglas Grant. The course is designed along the rugged coastline and extends on the basis of the natural landscape.

The cliff-edge setting fairways and undulating greens can inspire the challenge of all players. It is world-renowned for its exquisite design and extreme challenges, and has always been loved by sponsors and golfers.

Pebble Beach Golf Links has hosted many of the world's most famous golf events, including the annual AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am and the 1972, 1982, 1992 and 2000 U.S. Open.

Pebble Beach Golf Links was ranked number one in the United States in 2005 by the American magazine Golf Digest.

 7. Chicago Golf Club, Illinois - 31,706 mentions

This historic golf club in Chicago is one of the oldest 18-hole courses in the United States and is a favorite among fans and photographers.

6. Old Macdonald (Bandon Dunes), Oregon - 32,422 mentions

Bandon Dunes' Old Macdonald course has attracted many Instagram users with its magnificent topography and classic design.
Old Macdonald Links was built with one idea in mind: "To pay tribute to the designer C.B. Macdonald." When Tom Doak designed this course, he kept thinking, "If Mr. Macdonald were alive, how would he complete this work?" In the end, he answered the question this way: the world's largest green and abyssal bunkers. He exaggerated the design concepts of designers of that period, and the response from players was: "We are honored to play such a traditional and interesting course.

5. California Golf Club of San Francisco, California - 37,006 mentions

Located in the San Francisco Bay Area, this course has attracted countless Instagram users with its classic holes designed by Alister MacKenzie.

There is a contentious debate among golfers, and certainly among members, of which private course in San Francisco is the best. While some contend it is the Lake course at Olympic Club with its shot shaping and history of hosting U.S. Opens, and others argue that it is San Francisco Golf Club with its old school charm and intimate routing, I am firmly in the camp that The California Golf Club is comfortably the best course in the Bay Area. The movement in the terrain, and the way the holes are designed within it, represent some of the best work I’ve seen. A masterful variety of uphill and downhill shots are required while also rewarding players that can shape their ball when needed; though the fairways offer plenty of width to navigate within. The tees and fairways feature fescue grass which plays firm and fast while the bentgrass greens roll pure and with pace. The renovation that Kyle Phillips did was masterful and features some of the most attractive bunkering you will find at any course in the world, especially with how the edging compliments the shape of the Monterey tree tops. The afternoons at Cal Club are notoriously windy and temperatures rarely get very warm so having a jacket or sweater handy is recommended while pants are mandatory. You’ll also have a caddie to help carry your clubs and navigate the course since walking is required the majority of the time. In the end, Cal Club has few peers when it comes to exceptional variety in terrain, hole shapes, and overall design; it is simply one of the best inland courses in the world.

4. Old Macdonald (Bandon Dunes), Oregon - 32,422 mentions

As the venue for the Genesis Invitational, Riviera is not only extremely challenging, but also breathtakingly beautiful.

3. Bandon Dunes (Bandon Dunes), Oregon - 41,685 mentions

The main course of Bandon Dunes has become a popular check-in spot on Instagram with its natural landscape and unforgettable playing experience.
Bandon Dunes Golf Resort is located in the wilderness of Oregon, USA. On the beautiful Pacific coastline, four top courses seem to have been sleeping for hundreds of years.
In stark contrast to those dream courses that cost a lot of money, these four public courses practice minimalist design and return to the essence of golf, which is taking golf course design in a new direction.

The emergence of Bandon Dunes also makes people believe that as long as a great course is built, people will visit it no matter how remote the location is. Those who really love golf will go there at all costs, by plane, train, car, and any possible means of transportation. It can be said that the birth of Bandon Dunes Resort has overturned the holiday concept and travel style of American golfers.
There are many places in the world where famous golf courses are gathered, but Bandon Dunes Resort in Oregon, USA, is probably the only one that can play four world-class courses on foot. The four courses of Bandon Dunes Resort are famous all over the world, not because of how many Grand Slam events have been held here, nor because of their long history, but because they go against the trend and return to the essence of golf, and return very thoroughly. Golf, originally, is rugged terrain and biting sea breeze. On the moving coastline of the Pacific Ocean, all the conditions of Bandon Dunes are like the second rebirth of golf given by God, without gorgeous clothes, only the original wild magnificence. Bandon Dunes is taking golf in a new direction, as if it is another reincarnation after 600 years.

2. TPC Sawgrass, Florida - 59,528 mentions

Featuring its famous island greens, TPC Sawgrass is the dream of many golfers.

1. Augusta National Golf Club, Georgia - 123,399 mentions

It's no wonder that Augusta National Golf Club's reputation surpasses all other courses. As the host of the Masters, Augusta is known worldwide for its unparalleled beauty and unforgettable challenges.

Last words

These courses are not only great places to play golf, but also places where people can't help but take out their phones to take pictures. Which ones have you been to? Where will you check out next?
